When it started the screen would go dark and I could close and open the laptop and screen would light back up. Some times you had to do it a few times. Now it won't light up at all but with a flashlight I can see that desktop is up.
I found a forum once on this topic somewhere on the inter net but I can't find the link now. It gave some things to do on boot up. I can not remember exactly what it said to do.
From what I read this is a common problem with laptops especially HP. The laptop is 2 1/2 years old.
