Manufacturer warranties are near useless to computer buyers - they cover VERY little and it takes a long time to get it fixed after sending it in. Nearly all manufacturer warranties are 1 year for parts and 3 months for labor.
Store warranties are generally overpriced and they make big money off of them. If that warranty covers accidental and/or battery replacement it is reasonable. It can still take awhile to fix as well, but not as bad as manufacturers. And as andyjimrod suggested, check toshiba's direct extended warranty.
