A word of caution for using compressed air directly on fans - Don't go full blast on some of the thinner blades, or you risk the chance of spinning it faster than designed and ruining it, or even breaking blades off, rendering the fan useless. If you do have to blast the air directly at the blades, I find it useful to just put a finger in the middle of the fan to act as a brake or govenor to limit speeds.
Also when you pop open the case, might be wise to advise that you touch a bare metal piece of the chassis to discharge any static electricity in case you accidentally touch electronics.
