first off, tell us what power supply you bought / name & model


I would suggest getting a PSU that has the eight pin EPS connector, seeing as how this is a new build and new PSU, I would return the PSU for a correct version needed, its wayyyyyyyyyy to early in the life of your new rig to be playing with adapters!

if you list your whole system we can give you suggestions for high quality units that meet your rig's needs.

thats my two cents

if you google search, there are hordes of dedicated overclocking sites; you should learn the basics first though or they will not have much patience for you, there is plenty you must understand first

google for "overclocking guides" then read several of them
