possible wireless problem?
hi im new here. sorry for any spelling errors, im not good at spelling.
i just bought a new computer about a month ago. its the HP Pavillion dv9000. i got a really good deal on it i think. got all the bells and whistles for a great price. anyway heres my problem:
as soon as i got the computer i did not go onto micros or hp's website and gotten all there updates. i figured the computer would automaticly do that. anyway i had no problems with anything on my computer, it work like new. couple weeks later i installed the new battlefeild game and maxed the graphics and had no such problems of any kind. then one day i had a friend that came over to try to network my two computers together and was having troubles so she checked to see if i was missing some updates. sure enough at micros website i was missing some. after installing the new updates she still could not get the network up and running. we could take files from the laptop to the desktop but not the other way around. anyway im not worried about that problem.
anyway from that night i went onto battlefield and i was haveing some glitch problem it was like i was laging but looking at my connection from the game i was doing good. to solve that problem i would quit the game and reload it and sometimes it would work. anyway the next day i got the notice that there was some Hp updates that i needed to install. critical ones. so i installed them hoping it would solve my game issues. they did not. so to this day i still have troubles with the connection even though the in game its saying im fine.
just recently now im downloading torrents of movies so im leaving my computer on all night and day. im haveing troubles there. if i leave my computer on it starts to not respond. first that would go would be the p2p network from kazza. i uninstalled it cause i dont use it. the next program that goes is msn. then the explorer. at that point i restart my computer. now that happends every time i come home from work or wake up in the morning. oh, when my computer is pluged in nothing turns off (stand by, harddisk turn off, hybernation ect)
ive got a warrentee and the place i got the computer from seems like a good place that if i wanted to return to exchange i should not have a problem. but i want to keep my computer cause its a really good one. so im trying to trouble shoot this stuff myself before i call text saport or return the computer.
