Re: Decent 3d performer (games too) for $1400 or less with 2gb memory (dual core)?

Hi Mark,

I have found a couple of laptops that meet your criteria. It is up to you to decide which one would fit you best.

This laptop has a good dual core processor, and very good graphics for a laptop. It should run all your games fine at full resolution (1280 x 800). It has a good amount of hard disk space as well.

Geforce Go 7600, Core Duo T2400, 1 GB DDR2, 100 GB hard disk, 802.11a/b/g. ~$1250

This laptop doesn't have as high end graphics, but it has a much more powerful dual core processor with 64-bit support. It also comes a higher resolution screen and has a Wireless N card.

GeForce Go 7300, Core 2 Duo T7200, 1 GB DDR2, 120 GB hard disk, 802.11a/b/g/n. ~$1300

I would personally choose the Leveno laptop, but it is your decision. Both are good quality and excellent performers. The problem with the 2 GB of RAM is that you will have to raise the budget a little and go with something like this:
