you cant boot windows with an external drive
I suggest you buy another drive, load windows on the new drive / set jumpers as master >>>>> set old drive as slave
then install windows
hopefully once you are booting windows with the new drive you can get your data off the old drive ?
you chances are 70 / 30 the 30% is the success of data recovery
hence the age old nagging expression : back-up back-up back-up
