Yes, they're too high. You should be getting about 30C, no more than 40C.

Open the case and make sure the fans are spinning and there's a clear airflow path between the front and back case fans. Are the 2 drives installed one on top of the other with no room between them? How many case fans are there and how are they positioned?

Did you check your system's power requirements before fitting the new drive? What make/model is the PSU, and what does it say on the label for +3.3V, +5V and +12V?

Download SensorsView and post back with the temperatures and PSU voltages, both at startup and after the temperatures start getting high (or 2 screenshots if that's easier).
