Greetings and Welcome to TSF.
The quickest, simplest and easiest way to rectify your issue, is to ask a friend that has the same O/S (i.e: XP Home or XP Pro) for which ever one you are running, and let them allow you to copy these files toaeither a floppy disc or CD.
The Files are:
ntldr ; NETDETECT.COM and boot.ini.
To copy these files you will need to go into the folder options and check the box "Show HiddenFiles and Folder" and uncheck the box "Hide Protected Operating System Files" to be able to see these particular files.
Access to do this is from an Explorer window following these steps...Tools > Folder Options > View.
Once you have copiedthese folders, boot up your 'sick' computer with the floppy/CD and it will start, once fully operational, you will need to copy simply these files to your computer.
Post back with any queries/concerns.
