Windows can "see" my RAID 0 but not mount it - Help!
Hello All,
My system (in brief):
ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe
RAID 0 running on the Intel ICH5R
I did a stupid thing over the weekend. I installed an XP update on friday night and when I rebooted my RAID was missing. The <ctrl-I> screen didn't show up either. To cut a long story short my BIOS had been reset some how. Unfortunately I was too stupid to realise this straight away and I ended up plugging my RAID into the Promise controller in the hope that it would then show up (I knew at the time this was a dumb thing to do). Anyway, on Satuday morning I realised that the "Enable boot ROM" had not been set.
The upshot of all this is that I ended up buying an IDE drive, installing XP on it and trying to get my RAID to mount. <crtl-I> shows my RAID is good. Windows recognises that there is a drive there (when I check in the system utils) but I can't mount the drive. I ran VirtualLab and it found the RAID and said it could recover the files (for $400).
I'm sure there has to be a simple way I can get the RAID to mount. I probably need to load the Intel drivers using the F6, right? I didn't do this because at the time I couldn't figure out how to make the floppy. It's suprisingly hard to find the right info on the web.
Does anyone have any ideas about how I can fix my problem?
Thanks in advance,
Andy
