Mistake Pavillion DV1000 replaced screen now no power

I just dont get it, Customer comes in with the system powered it on, screen was cracked on inside. Got the new screen in and did the repair, smooth transition, no problems or so I thought. Put it back together and tried to turn it on. Dead as a door nail.
Im like well no power to battery but the charger is with customer. Get to work put it on one of those universal chargers at 18V because unit called for 18.5. the battery light flashed a quick second and then nothing - press the power button and nothing.
Moved it up to 19V no charge light - still dead.
I retraced my steps but all was good, I mean come on it is a screen replacement not chip replacement.
Before you ask, I did try another universal as well as a different customers battery (same one) and charger got nothing.
I was wondering about the powerboard. Considering this unit is made tighter then a bread basket and the only board internally I touched was the powerboard when I plugged the LCD Cable in.
Does anyone know or could you please tell me, If the powerboard is bad will that also stop the charging light from coming on. The charging light is not on the powerboard itself but on a portion of the motherboard far away from the powerboard.
Also could I have shorted something out by increasing the voltage to 19 when it calls for 18.5,
Thanks in advance for any help you can give this poor fool!
