Since I'm not in America I'm neither, but here in NZ I voted Labour so I figure that probably puts me in the category of Democrat (tax and spend?)
Though politics is a bit interesting at the moment here, Labour are in power but are a minority government, their support parties lean more to the right than left so the ending result is a somewhat right sided government lead by the left
We didn't go into Iraq (I think we've got troops in Afghanistan though), we told 80s America to sod off and to take their Nuclear weapons with them.
Anyway the reason I side more to the left than the right is because they still look out for the worker (min wage increases, paid parental leave, 4 weeks annual leave, gave unions some power back, that sort of thing) and tend to put any extra funds into restoring our public health system, improving our roads etc before cutting the personal tax rate. Plus it was them who decided to give our Telecommunications company a big kick up the rear by forcing them to unbundle the local loop
