CLEAR & RESET SYSTEM RESTORE'S CACHE

Go to Start >> Run - type or copy/paste control sysdm.cpl,,4 & press Enter

* Tick on the checkbox - Turn off System Restore on all drives
* Click Apply

Turn it back 'On' by unticking the same checkbox & click Apply, and then OK

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Also make sure there is no checkmark beside Hide file extensions for known file types
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

Delete the following if they exist:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Amy\laptop\DOCs\Amy\DESKTOP2\kmd.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Amy\laptop\Downloads\035871.exe

If they resist deletion, boot to safe mode and delete from there.

Can you tell me what this program is and if you installed it yourself?

Pixel

I can't find enough information for this file -> C:\Program Files\Pixel\activate.exe I feel it may be non-malicious, but would like just a bit more info.

Right click on that file and go to Properties. Then go to the Version tab and see what information you can get from there (Company, Description, etc.) and post it here.

How is your system behaving now, please?
