Hi again

Open HijackThis and run a scan. Check the following entries

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ATIModeChange] Ati2mdxx.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DataLayer] C:\Program Files\Common Files\PCSuite\DataLayer\DataLayer.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinampAgent] C:\Program Files\Winamp\winampa.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe"
O4 - Global Startup: Adobe Reader Speed Launch.lnk = C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\reader_sl.exe

Please remember to close all other windows, including browsers then click Fix checked.

All of the above are available via Start > Programs – they don’t need to be running as soon as your system boots up.

Unfortunately, much of the rest is simply stuff that Sony put on their systems and, of course, Norton, which is a major resource hog.

Anyway, let me know how things are working now.
