You are still a nut! LOL! The only thing I see here as a possibility is some data may end up being lost. If your update to your back-up drive didn't change the deleted files, there's always a possiblilty that something else might have been missed. So, if there has been anything really important put on your 'puter you might want to thouroughly check your back-up to make sure that data is there so you don't lose it. Otherwise, go for it!
