My System

Go to control panel / administrative tools, computer management, Disk management.
Right Click on the image of the D drive, choose "change drive letter or path"
find a free letter eg G, click OK or apply

Now do the same for the CD drive and select the drive letter as D
repeat for the G drive and set to F

if you want to check within XP help, do a search on "change drive letter" should point you to
"assign, change, or remove a drive letter"
