Hi,
Unfortunately, not very many printers connect via ethernet cable. The only thing that would justify this is if it is a networked printer. That is, you have it hooked up to another computer or hooked up directly to a router. Printers are designed to connect directly to computers via IEEE1284 Parallel or USB. While you can thoeretically use a crossover cable to accomplish this over ethernet, I'm willing to bet it's over parallel or USB. Check the connections on the back of you printer and see if those ports exist. Also, it would be helpful to know the entire setup of your desktop and its network. You may also need to set the port of the driver to connect to the printer. For the Treo, take a look at your taskbar. Look on the right where there are icons. Look for the hotsync icon and right click it. Make sure local or local usb is checked. Write back!
