Cheap psu's can cause alot of undesirable results especially when they struggle, I have never used watercooling so I never heard of ram making noise maybe because my systems just ain't that quiet but maybe it was a vibration??? from the psu???
Maybe the psu was struggling to supply the ram with the correct voltage, I can only speculate
Mick thanks for sharing this with us and I totally agree with your conclusion "dont buy cheap powerpacks - no matter how high the wattage"
