OS: WIN XP Pro/VISTA (Beta)/Knoppix/OS X/RedHat/etc...

My System

I just looked at the power settings under the control panel (WIN XP) and you may want to look to see how they have configured their advanced tab. Set the "when I press the power button on my computer:" to "ask me what to do" see if this helps - if nothing else they can just press the power button to standby, shut down, or restart - further log off features on XP can be set to show up beside the "turn off computer" button in the start menu -

Also you may suggest that they can always pres the "CTRL+ALT+DEL" keys and click on the shutdown drop down menu which has all the options of "standby, hibernate, restart, turnoff, logoff, switch user"

Lastly if they have a winkey (the little key that will open the start menu) then they should be able to press "WINKEY + L" and log off that way.

Just some ideas - mostly based off of XP win 2000 is a little dif...
