Blessings to you for your time and assistance!

XP user 3Gb processor - things have been running progressively slower on my system and have been more than troubled by the following clues:

system freezes and i get the "program is not responding and will have to close" box - this happens especially when working witrh files in Explore or when a program is first started or when windows first starts up.
Often when i do a google search, it takes me to a totally unrelated subject matter - if i repeat the search it will eventually take me to what i'm looking for.
have recently seen the box "mmtray has encountered a problem and needs to close"
Have seen frequent notifications from McAffe that it has found the trojan Spy-Agent.bc, but my frequent spyware scans do not locate these.

I frequently update windows and run McAffe virus scans, Ad-Aware and Spybot - i also run Super Antispyware and last evening ran a Bitdefender scan. the scans will often find items, but many times will show nothing.
