pull the drive out if you installed it. check the jumpers on your old drive and jumper the dvd the same as the old drive... there should be 3 jumper pin in the rear of the drive

C=cable select
S=slave
M=master
reinsert the drive once you've set the jumpers/ plug the ribbon and power plug. power on you pc / when the os loads should show the new drive is being detected and installed.
