For a laptop, what's the difference in these two speeds...and which should I buy?

To answer this question, two things need to be addressed; the most important one is...Is your laptop capable of supporting a 7200 RPM HDD?
If it is, then Go For IT!
The main difference is the transfer rate for the data on the HDD to the CPU and back....most HDD's today are 7200 RPM, but as I said it will depend entirely upon whether your laptop can take it.
