I have a 200GB hdd for just over a year now, It's been working fine up until this morning when i went to switch it on and it said 'disk boot failure insert system disk.' Which i done and tried to repair it, but it didnt work, it is a legit copy btw.
I've tried a couple of recovery programs and they havent worked either
Offcourse i only want to re-format as a last resort, theres quite a few thing on it that i hadnt backed up, So here's a bit of the puzzle thats confusing me just now.....
In disk management i get this piccy
The yellow circle being my Hard drive, Why it's registering as that gawd only knows....
But then if i look into my device manager it shows up as it should
I didnt have it opened for this screen shot, but in the dvd/cd-rom devices it shows three things. my cd player, dvd player, and another dvd player ( the hard drive )
Any ideas out there ?
I was hoping if it would show up as a hdd i could recover some stuff off it, Why it's coming up as a dvd player is stumping me !!!!
Thanks for any help/advice anyone can give me
