one thing that can cause hangups, is if you burn them in windows xp, and do not "close" the cd session on the disc.

xp will still read an open-ended cd, because of a utility called "direct cd" being included in the windows xp installation.

older versions of windows did not come with this, so, an older version of windows will need to have roxio's "direct cd" installed in order to see open-ended cd's.

as far as drivers for cd burners, they haven't needed drivers since windows 95 came out. the external case that the burner is in, that might need a driver after all.
