sorry i know im not supposed to reply to my own messages, but this may be important to you.
REGEDIT.EXE will not open, it was infected with a virus, and now it fails to open
"The Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application."
i googled this problem, and i found that changing the file extension to .com or .scr would fix it.... but it didnt. This is a nightmare!
