Hello! Recently I have been having a very annoying internet problem. (Well, I have had this problem for about 5 months, but it has gotten more severe I think)

First off, I know very very little about computers.

I have comcast cable internet, with an RCA digital broadband modem.

The problem is, when surfing the net, when I click to go to a new site, or click a link, or type in a site address, often my internet will "stall." I use this word because it is like lag, but it lasts anywhere from 20 seconds to 3 minutes.

The windows icon in the top right corner of the internet page is moving around so it recieved my command, but nothing happens.

I have absolutely no clue how to fix this, and I have gotten poor answers from the 2 calls I have made to customer service. This problem also seemed to happen in everquest, where my connection would be very close to being broken sometimes.

I have had a very hard time describing this problem to others, and the best way to explain it is just that my internet "stalls" and nothing happens for a while.

If anyone knows why this is happening, or how to fix this, please help!
