Problems with my Compaq M2000

I'm having a few problems with my laptop. First off with which I need the most help is that the fan decided to stop working and I'm not sure of the cause. Wether it's a short in power or something's clogged it up so it can't spin, I'm not sure. I'm not under any warranty or anything like that, so I should be safe dissasembling it, but the thing is I've tried and it isn't coming easily. Should I just the screws back in and take it to a repair shop or can anyone give me some advice as to properly remove it.

Next the hinge where the screen connects to the base has broken since my niece tried to pick it up and being 2, she couldn't and dropped it and somehow the hing set loose from it's bracket and I don't know how to get it back in. Which I guess could be another reason why I should just take it in, but I'd rather not spend 3x what it'd cost me to fix it myself. Lastly, the power cord is broken and I need to replace it. It's probly going to be the cheapest to replace. Too many problems for what it's worth I guess. But it's going to cost too much to get a new anyway. So any help is much appreciated, thanks.
