my computer is functioning normally again! Thank you so much. I don't expect to have any further problems but if I do I will let you know. I think I found the problem if you want to check into it.

I recently downloaded a telephony service called Globe7. It has online tv and all sorts of things. I think it may have added some other things to my computer. I removed the program as I really don't need it, I know this is the only thing that has been downloaded recently.
