With Dell’s attempted buyout news spreading across the net, more information is coming to light. Because of the stock prices, Dell might not have enough capital to cover the possibly, as large as $25 billion, buyout. Thus they have gone to search for co-investors in their venture. One of these appears to be Microsoft, who are now in talks with Dell on a possible partnership.
Microsoft could be covering almost $1 billion in equity or financing. But of course, MS isn’t the only investor interested in the PC giant. Several other investors are also on the short list, and we expect to see interesting things.
If this deal goes through, it could mean a foothold for Microsoft. Having Dell as a partner can never be a bad thing, and with Dell’s possible expansion into Enterprise services, this could become a key deal for both companies.
