2 Questions

I kicked/tripped over the wire on my current one a few weeks back and the little pin in the socket is stuck in the charger wire. If that makes sense. So i have to get a new charger and someone to open up the laptop and fit a new power socket in. Will this be really expensive?

That along with it only having 40gb and a few other problems im probably going to buy a new one. The one i have now is a Pentium4 2.8ghz, 704mb RAM. I use it for video editing and 3d animation so it has to be a good one. Was just wondering if a 1.8ghz celeron or something thats not a pentium and a gig+ RAM, would i see a massive difference is speed compared to the one i have now?
