Hmm, without being able to complete the chkdsk sequence you're kinda stuck.
But you knew that. :)
I suggest installing a SECOND installation of Windows onto the HDD. This will give you a fresh install that you can use to recover/backup anything you want. If you'd like further details just let us know.
