Hi there,
I'm no expert, but I have a reasonable knowledge of computers.
My problem is that when playing a video file (.avi, .mpeg, .wmv etc) after starting up willl play fine but when trying to play another video file, the display will go all "jerky" and the audio is out of phase.
I have no conflicts in Hardware in Device Manager.
I use either Windows Media Player 10, Nero Show Time 6 or Div X Player 6.2 to watch these files and that doesn't seem to make any difference.
The laptop uses a NVIDIA GeForce FXGo5200 and tried updating driver but went back to 6.2.1.2 and that didn't make any difference.
Used to have DivX 5 bundle and upgraded to 6.2 but that didn't make any difference.
Ran Ad Aware, Spybot etc and found nothing that made any difference.
Use AVG Anti-Virus that is updated very frequently.
If I reboot, then it all works fine again - until you play another video files and then it starts again.
The only hardware changes that I have made is to replace the original installed 512MB DDR333 with 1GB Crucial DDR333 RAM - it works fine with everything else.
I connect/use this on my home network via a wired router/cable modem that I have had for several years and all the other computers work OK so can't see this contributing.
I'm reluctant to wipe it all off and start again from scratch as that will be a bit of a pain and may not even solve the problem and I started building a replacement computer for my main PC back in March but haven't been motivated to even complete that!
I'm running out of ideas guys (

) or girls (

) so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
Mike
