Hello there everyone, I have a Satellite A10-S100 and it has been facing some problems recently. Recently, we had a broadband connection and I upgraded our WinXP to SP2. However, during the installation, the notebook hanged, and I had to force it to shutdown. As I log back in, Windows tells me to uninstall SP2, and install it again. I uninstalled it, although there were some windows telling how drivers can get incompatible, I just proceeded with it. Now, I have SP2 successfully installed.
For my problem, I believe 2 drivers are now missing. Everytime I log in, a New Hardware message appears, saying:
This wizard helps you to install software for:
Toshiba ACPI-Compliant Value Added Logical Device
When I click to next, it says that I'm missing tvald.sys
The other message says:
This wizard helps you to install software for:
Toshiba Value Added Logical Device and General Purpose Device
I'm missing tvalg.sys for this one.
I've been searching, and downloaded several drivers. Unfortunately, I seemed to have gotten a wrong one. As I installed that one and restarted, my notebook showed the "RTC battery is low or CMOS checksum is inconsistent" error. I have read articles saying that I should leave it on and plugged in for atleast 8 hours, and I have left it for 12 hours but it still shows the error everytime I open the notebook. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the driver, but it seem to do so.
Finally, I think I now have the right driver, which I found
here. After I installed it and restarted my notebook, the RTC error no longer shows, and when Windows load, however a quick Blue Screen shows and restarts quickly. I can't note what is stated, since it automatically restarts. It does that everytime, and I used the 'Use Last Safe Settings' inorder to safely get inside again. However, it seems that the driver still isn't installed or used because of the Last Safe settings I picked.
Please help me on this problem, and I would really appriciate quick replies. Thank you very much.
