to answer the fella with the missing partitions. When you are using Partition Table Doctor after you try the free scan there is a button to buy the software for $39.00 its at that point it actually fixes your problems >>> the free scan just gives you the confidence the Doctor can fix your dilemma.
please post back if you have more questions and we can subit a detailed "how to " to run the program.
@ Volt:
I'll bet your using Win XP pro ?????? I am beginning to find this problem occurs the most with
Win XP Home Edition
let me know please; I may have to change the warning for Home edition users. After I got thinking about Indoril's response I tried duplicating the missing partitions on a XP pro machine >>> no luck transplanted a slave drive to another machnine without any glitch; however the same attempt was not so successful with my brothers Home Edition slave drive; and when I brought my brothers home edition drive back to his machine >>> his OS couldnt read the drive either >>>>>

there was no brotherly love there for the rest of the day (he does not back-up his data well LOL) scared the pants off him LOL but PTTD rescued his slave drive but he is no longer a willing participant to my "tests"
some people just cant take a joke
