Have you tried the instructions in the popup blocker link?

Do a search for all WAV files. If you find it in the Windows folder, then check which event it's linked to in Control Panel. If it's in a program folder then disable it using the program's options.

It might be a warning of some sort, in which case you don't want to disable it until you've dealt with the problem.

Check the options for each of your Firefox extensions to see if any has a sound option that can be disabled.

Do you have any 3rd party software running in the background?
