Thanks for all your help POAD, and taking the time to help me out.

I've used this forum on a few occasions over the past few years and am amazed at how chaps like you are willing to donate their time to fix other people's problems!

(I am pretty sure all my current troubles came after a fresh reload of XP, I then went browsing without first running Windows Update (its an old version of XP just after SP1 so lots of MS security stuff added since? ...

BTW: Is Firefox less protected than IE, or does most of the spyware target IE ...).
