Is RAID1 drive unique to 1 mobo?

I've had RAID1 running for years, but suddenly my mobo cycles through end-less boots similar to description in clintfan guide. The message is "STOP: 0xC000021A {Fatal System Error}
The session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xxxxxxxxx. The system has been shut down."
Safe mode boot off CD tells me that no hard drives are attached, I can't repair.
Primary Question: can the 2 SATA HDDs be attached to another mobo to recover the data on them?
Secondary question: any suggestion on fixing the rig?
Many thanks in advance!!
