Performance troubles on clean format/install of xp
I have recently bought a new motherboard and hard drive, and set everything up. However theres something bad going on, it seems that simple tasks will hogg cpu, such as resising a picture file (this could take up to 50% usuage just by changing the size over and over). I have tested on 4 games (black and white 2, eve online, FEAR, BF2, and all seem way to slow for what they should be. Ive tried many things to solve this, I thought that explorer.exe was the cause as it was draining the cpu. But even when i disable explorer.exe and then test out my games, they are still just as slow. So i think the only thing left for me to do is install my old motherboard again. here is a list of my hardware:
p4 2.8 northwood with ht,
Gigabyte 8IPE1000-G/L ,
x850xt pe agp,
win xp pro,
19inch lcd (or the other kind like lcd),
audigy 2 zs platinum pro,
1024 mb pc3200 ddr ram.
Hard drive is ST380011A, i think from seagate
Psu: thermaltake purepower 460w
Please take a look at my sandra report for performance, and see if theres anything wrong thats causing all this. Also, it's not the pagefile that's the cause as i recently increased it's size to see if it helped. thanxx
