Hi, the Q-fan works on system load (cpu) and it does seem to work, I used it for awhile but found that having 3 wd hard drives was the source of my noise, not my fans (with the possible exception of 2 front fans).

just play with the q-fan ratio settings until you get a balance between noise and temp. btw I beleive the q-fan only works on the cpu fan header.
