This is correct. This is a often misconception on advertised and actual disk size. 1GB is actually 1024MB. So you will loose about 1.5 gig from that. Then you will have the partition information and the MBR which will consume about 200MB. The rest of the unalocated amout will be the factory Dell recovery partition and utilities. If you look in Disk Management you will see a "Raw" partition that is unaccessible. This is the Dell utility partition.
