Start Norton AntiVirus.
Click Options. If you see a menu, click Norton AntiVirus. The Norton AntiVirus Options dialog box appears.
In the left pane, click Auto-Protect.
In the right pane, uncheck Enable Auto-Protect (recommended).
Click OK.
