HEADS UP FOR FOLKS w/ P4P/C boards w/ sound stutter &/or system crawl after new SATA

Just today I found some discussion on the ASUS tech forum about a pair of problems several people here have encountered - stuttering or out of sync sound, and system running slow after adding a new (typically SATA) HDD - according to at least one user, and verified by one or two who tried his solution, the fix (if you haven't done it since the hardware changed) is to run the Intel chipset installation utility (infinstenu.exe, I'd attach a copy except .exe files aren't approved) - a), the newest version probably knows some tricks not included in the version you ran when you built your system (you did run it, right? Always part of building a system, right after the OS loads first time) and b), it seems to me that Intel's utility doesn't install all features, only ones needed to support stuff you're actually using at the moment. So if you go from 0 SATA drives on the ICH5 connectors to 1 or 2 SATA drives, you gotta run it again. Apparently, it fixes (at least some) sound stutter and takes the drives from 1.5 -2.5 MB/s (pathetic) up to 15 MB/sec plus (your mileage will vary).

Try it, you'll like it.
