Crashing to Black Screen w/ strange Motherboard noises

I recently upgraded my machine and all was going well until reinstalled Planetside. Now during random intervals in play it will completely crash out to a black screen. However, it wont crash completely it'll just hang at the black screen and the motherboard will begin making a bunch of beeping noises. I have to manually power it off in order to get it to shut down.

System Spec's

Athlon64 3500+
ASUS A8V K8T800 Pro Socket 939 (Original BIOS)
2 x Kingston 512 at PC3200
Radeon 9800 Pro w/ Omega Drivers 2.6.75a
ISO 500-D 450 Watt Powersupply

I'm under the impression that one of the pieces of hardware is failing to cope with the load during gameplay. I initially assumed the Videocard was overheating (there's no heat sensor on it, but when I put my hand near it, it felt hotter than every other component in my computer). However, my 9800 didn't have a heat issue with the first system it was in. Any help would be apreciated and I'll gladly post any other specs you may need. Thanks in advance
