Thank you for getting back to me, as per your instructions i did as asked, however, i think there may have been a problem with the L2MFix part, i ran it twice and below is the log,

My desktop and icons didn't disappear and i don't think it did a scan. I remember it saying something to the effect
'Please fix the missing file 020 with Hijack This'
