Are you really suggesting Harriet Miers was the right choice for supreme court ??????

Absolutly not. She did not qualify in my mind as supreme court material. My point is that if dems like shumar are willing to say that GW gave into the right wing that is wrong because the left wing has opposed her too. Judge Alito has the judicial expierence required to be on the high court and is a true scholar. Harriet Miers is I'm sure a great women but she wasn't the right one for the job.

John McCain has REALLY been in the military (so has anyone who has been honorably discharged.)Colin Powell has too

I respect all of these mens commitments to our armed service. They certaily deserve it, as well as Georg W. Bush. No matter if you are in the reserves or that actice military we all play a part in protecting our liberties. You should appreciate Gw's service not critisize or minimize it. That is wrong and is a personal attact on all members of the reserve past and present.

I think you misunderstood my intentions when I said our country needs to elect presidents that have served successfully in the military and have seen & smelled the "cordite burning" thats battle my friend !!!! in other words seen the REAL ramifications of war.

I have been in combat. George Bush has not but he certainly contributed to the United State military suring that crucial time in our history. To argue against that minimizes and reserve members service and contributions to any war effort.
