Wow, Cat, you were quick to respond to my problem...thanks! My Safe Mode only works if I choose Safe Mode with Networking (which makes me suspicious but I know so little I don't know if that's unfounded or not).
When I entered the second command in Killvundo.bat (c:\windows\repair\dvdtnof.*), I got a Windows Script Host pop up window indicating an error "system can't find the file specified". I hit OK and got a blue screen with the following information---
Stop: C000021a {fatal system error} the windows logon process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0X00000001 (0X00000000 0X00000000). the system has been shut down. I think I just pressed enter and got back to my desktop where I manually started HJT.
When I did another system scan, the 02-BHO line was not there but I did check and fix the other 3 items, although both the 020's said the files were missing. Pressing any key to reboot did not work nor did I get a blue screen so I restarted in the usual way.
Clean up got rid of quite a few files but Panda ActiveScan found nothing so no report there.
