I use AVG Free, Winpatrol, Ewido Security Suite, Spyblaster, Spybot, Adaware, CCleaner, Windows XP Prefetch Clean & Control, Killbox, several of the online virus scan programs and Windows Firewall. Originally Winpatrol clued me in to a problem with fontdvd.dll and pmnll.dll files trying to take over. Additionally I was getting a popup message that "a change has been detected in your INternet "Hosts" file". After looking at another bulletin board, I installed several of the above programs and Ewido finds Virtumonde in the two .dll files noted above but it doesn't actually remove it and Killbox won't kill it. I've followed advice from the other board but to no avail. As an aside, I have had trouble in the past booting in to safe mode - just get the black screen and the desk top never pops up although when I tried it yesterday with network access (or whatever it's called), I had no trouble.
Currently I have my system restore point turned off. All hidden files can be viewed as recommended in your "read this before posting a HJT log" post. Here is my HJT log using HJKTHIS ANALYZER.
