Sorry for the lurking....won't happen again. It would have saved me a week of frustration if I had just asked in the first place.
Thanks for the advice; I already do most of those things. But will add the rest to my list. I guess stuff gets by you when you have a dozen computers to look after and electron microscopes too. Not that it's any excuse.
