Before I check those things, I can tell you that when I had my printer connected via USB (Epson R300), my pc would post then just reset itself. Continously. When I unplug the printer USB cable, it boots into XP fine.

I've tried using the on board graphics too. I thought there was a problem with my Nvidia MX440. It didn't make a difference.
