Open your bookmarks tree in the sidebar or Bookmarks Manager and make sure your main Bookmark Folder is situated in pole position (at the top) so Firefox can 'read' it. You can move the folders around by the drag and drop method. If it's not at the top it usually causes Firefox to bounce around. Annoying innit?!
